Simrad RD68 VHF class D

With robustly engineered electronics and controls, plus a die-cast aluminum case, the RD68 are built to stand up to tough use. The RD68 is offered with an active fist microphone.

Easy operation and visual simplicity

All controls and displays have been refined and represent the ideal set-up for ergonomic operation, visual simplicity and clarity. Rotary controls allow fast and accurate channel selection, as well as precise control of volume and squelch. Simple menu structures direct the operation in both radio and DSC modes. Using the radio, the channel number is displayed in large digits, while soft keys give quick access to all scan modes. Dedicated keys are provided for the commonly used radio functions. A single key press gives immediate access to the DSC mode. High contrast display screens ensure that all text and symbols are easy to read, and both the display screens and controls have variable backlighting for ease of use in difficult conditions.

All weather operation

The RD68 is a powerful VHF with 54 international channels, up to 10 private channels plus national channels, where possible. Dual and triple watch functions are included. The full range of DSC calls can be made including group calls for flotilla or sailing club use. A directory allows storage of up to 16 commonly used call numbers (MMSI’s) which can be edited to allow call selection by name. Simple connection to a GPS receiver via NMEA input, ensures that the distress call will send your exact position. By using the optional flush-mount kit, the front face, control panel, handsets and/or fist-mike of the VHF set can be operated in the open in all weathers.
