World's smallest 406 MHz EPIRB approvable worldwide. Built in strobe for enhanced location in poor visibility conditions. Single, three position switch for easy test and operation. Steady green LED indicates has passed full functional test, flashing red LED indicates unit is "ON"Transmits on 406 MHz (COSPAS-SARSAT) with your registered, digitally-coded distress signal, and 121.5 MHz (SAR homing frequency). Can be manually activated; self-buoyant - no external float collar to lose.
The new Safelink Pro Personal Location Beacon (PLB) brings added dimensions to safety with a minimum 48 hour operational battery life at temperatures as low as -20°c. Safelink Pro battery packs have a five year storage life and are user replaceable.
The Safelink Pro PLB is a compact and rugged palm-sized unit designed to be carried by individuals as a last resort safeguard against any life threatening incidents that may occur anywhere in the world. Whether alone or within a group, on holiday, at work, carrying out your sport or hobby, if you ever find yourself in a remote area without any other form of communication, the Safelink Pro PLB comes into its own.
Once activated it transmits a unique identification signal along with your current position via the international search and rescue satellite system operated by COSPAS-SARSAT on 406 MHz. The call for help is then quickly passed to regional search and rescue authorities who can rapidly get to the scene.
Safelink Pro is waterproof to 10m and designed to withstand the harshest of environments while still being extremely easy to operate and small enough to carry with you at all times.
Safelink Pro PLB has a unique discreet antenna deployment system with simple three-stage, manual operation to prevent any risk of accidental or false activation. In its stored state, the antenna is completely hidden from view and fully protected against rough handling. Once deployed, the antenna automatically springs into the optimum position ready for use.
The Safelink Pro's integral 16 channel GPS receiver gives a typical positional accuracy of +/- 62 metres and new position updates every 20 minutes, significantly reducing the normal search area down from a 28sq nm area, when given a clear view skyward. It also has visual indication of GPS position acquisition.
GPS Interface – optical data interface via Infrared diode (NMEA 0183): New, flashing LED in GPS optical interface confirms data transmission from GPS; downloaded GPS coordinates confirmed by flashing LEDs within three seconds of completing self-test sequence. Can be manually activated; self-buoyant – no external float collar to lose. Exclusive, polycarbonate blend designed for maximum resistance to UV and chemicals; maximum durability when exposed to extreme temperatures or shock.
Meeting the demands of both commercial mariners and recreational boaters, the new Safelink EPIRB heralds the arrival of the next generation in EPIRB technology. This ultra compact and stylish 406 MHz EPIRB comes with a built in high accuracy GPS as standard, for enhanced position location and a user replaceable battery* with a 6 year life.
The Safelink EPIRB range offers two models, one features a manual deployment bracket and the other an automatic deployment housing which also includes a hydrostatic release unit. The Safelink 406 MHz EPIRB is designed to operate with the COSPAS-SARSAT international search and rescue system. The unit can be activated automatically by immersion in water, or manually by following the activation instructions printed on the unit.
The built in GPS receiver ensures that an accurate position of a casualty is relayed to the rescue services. This in turn improves the speed of recovery by updating the position of the beacon at regular intervals.
Cat I: Fully enclosed polyethylene bracket withstands extremely abusive environments. (Auto deploy)
Cat II: Mounting Bracket included with EPIRB purchase (Manual deploy)
